Still Mineral Water by Mondariz originates from Mondariz Balneario - Spain’s smallest municipality - which has grown due to its local thermal springs. Discovered by Dr. Domingo Blanco Lage, the water from the thermal springs was shown to have dermatological health properties. Following these observations, he began encouraging people to drink the water, which would later come to be bottled for anyone to drink and enjoy. The company of Mondariz was founded by Mr. Enrique Peinador Velta and his family, who established a bottling plant for the mineral water in 1877 after the Mondariz water had been declared safe for public use in 1873. Over time Mondariz became one of the most important hydrotherapy centers of Spain, with the Spanish Royal Family making use of the waters for centuries.
